Lots of work done, still lots of work to go.

Well, It's been a minute! We have gotten a lot of work done, but we still have a lot of work to go! The existing building that we are going to utilize was lifted and raised an extra 4 feet up with the help our friends at Arron's Lawn Service. Aaron is a great guy! Remember to shop local!

With the new height, we will be able to insulate properly while still having enough height for out fermenters and brite tanks.  In the morning, S.L. Contracting will be out to dig and install the underground sewer line while Valor Mechanical runs the water lines and sewer into where the new structure will be.

Once the underground is installed and inspected we will be pouring concrete! I got the forms in place this evening, and will fine tune the level of them in the morning. This underground and concrete work has been a massive weight (Pun intended...I'm a science teacher, remember?) on my shoulders since November! Once that concrete is in, I can go gangbusters on getting this brewery built! Frame it, hang siding, Run electrical, finish plumbing, insulate, hang paneling, finish floor, GET LICENSED!

At this point, I am still optimistic to have beer for sale by the end of the summer!

For more frequent updates, check out our Facebook and Instagram pages. They get more frequent (but smaller) updates.  Realistically, they get updated more often because I can do it quickly from my phone, and the web page requires me to sit down at my computer. Give me a break though, I am building a brewery, raising three kids, trying to spoil my wife and teaching physics via distance learning! My plate is filling up!

We are already thinking about out first brew when the license comes though. Brew number one, will be something we plan to have as a regular, or a fun one off...tough choices!

I have been brewing for about 10 years. With a background in chemistry, physics and engineering I quickly dove headfirst into the science of making beer. Over the years I have learned to find a happy medium between the art, the science and the joy of brewing. I am still working my day job as a high school science teacher, and will continue to do so until our Chaotic Good Brewing can spread.
